Kailasanathar Temple is a
Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Vaiyur Village near Chidambaram
Town in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Kailasanathar
and Mother is called as Parvathi. The Temple is situated on banks of Pazhaya
Kollidam River. The Temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram
hymns had a mention about this Temple.
The Temple
Presiding Deity is called as Kailasanathar.
He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Mother is called as
Parvathi. She is housed in a separate shrine. There are shrines for Mariamman,
Vinayagar and Murugan in the Temple premises. The Temple follows Shivagama
Tradition. One Kala Pooja is performed in this Temple.
