Ekambaranathar Temple is a
Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Katchupalli Village in
Konganapuram block in Salem District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding
Deity is called as Ekambaranathar and Mother is called as Kamakshi. The Temple
is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention about
this Temple.
The Temple
Presiding
Deity is called as Ekambaranathar. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam.
He is facing west. Vinayaga, Vishnu Durga, Brahma and Nataraja are the Koshta
Idols located around the sanctum wall. Chandikeswarar can be found in his usual
location. Vinayaga and Murugan can be found at the entrance of the sanctum.
Dwajastambam and Balipeedam can be found immediately after the entrance facing
the sanctum.
Nandi
housed in the Nandi Mandapam can be found facing the sanctum. Mother is called
as Kamakshi. There is a separate shrine for Sani Bhagwan in the Temple
premises. There are shrines for Kanni Vinayaga, Murugan with consorts Valli and
Deivanai, Dakshinamurthy, Kala Bhairavar, Saraswathi, 63 Nayanmars and
Navagrahas in the Temple premises. Two Kaala Pooja is conducted in this Temple.

Chitra Pournami, Thai Amavasya, Arudhra Darshan, Vinayaga Chathurthi, Karthikai
Deepam, Sashti and Panguni Uthiram are the festivals celebrated here.

The
Temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns sung by Sundarar
had a mention about this Temple. The Temple is mentioned in 7th Thirumurai
in 31st Patikam in 4th Song.
