Kottai Hidayathul Islam Safia Jamath is a renowned Muslim place of
worship at Kottaimedu. It is located just a kilometer away from Coimbatore
railway junction between the Town Hall and Ukkadam.
This is the first and the biggest mosque to be built in Coimbatore
during the reign of Tipu Sultan in the 17th century, who is also considered to
have offered prayers at the Kottai mosque.
Islamic pilgrims from the entire country visit this mosque.
