Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located at Choozhal in
Piracode in Krishnapuram in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu. The temple celebrates
its annual festival during the month of February - March, known as Kumbha
Rohini Mahotsavam. In the early days the name of the village is known as
Shankurutty. After a period, the name of the village got its name as
Krishnapuram originated from the name of the Lord Krishna.
During
Olden times, this temple was a bhajan mandir and Uriyadi with Bhajana
Pattabhishekam (annual festival) was conducted regularly. Then it was
demolished in 1973 and new Sri Krishna temple was constructed with effective
participation of public in17.04.1979. The Temple is located about 4 Kms from Parassala Kerala, 6 Kms from Kaliyakkavilai, 14 Kms from Marthandam, 47 Kms from Nagercoil, 65 Kms
from Kanyakumari and 42 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram. Nearest Railway Station is
