As per Commissioners order on behalf of the temple, in a area of 219 acre, Goshala was started on 3.6.2008. At present cattle of various ages numbering about 499 are taken care of. For the safety of the cattle in Goshala, iron fence has been erected in an area of about 10 acres. The fencing of another area of 150 acres is nearing completion. Sufficient water facility and Pipe lines had been laid for the cattle.
For protection of the cattle, 9 temporary sheds have been built. Cattle grass is cultivated in 12 acres in Thaikkal Thottam, Karamadai Thottam and in Kallimanthayam. In addition to grass, the rice husk and cattle feeds are fed to the cattle in Goshala.
The green fodder needed for temple elephants and cattle, on the advice of Forest department is cultivated in the mode of farm cultivation in Thaikal Thottam, Kallimanthayam and Karamadai Thottam. The farm cultivation of green fodder is maintained properly.

Now steps have been taken to install the chaff - cutter and milking machines at Goshala and the milk obtained from the Goshala cows are to be sold through Milk Producers Co-Operative society at the nearby Esakkampatti village.
