Subramanyaswamy Temple, Thiruparankundram – Festivals
The
temple is a very sacred place and every visitor who come in seeking blessings
have always returned satisfactory with peace of mind and happiness. Lord Muruga
is worshipped by lots of love and respect by all the people of Tamilnadu and
they believe that he blesses everyone who reach him with their problems. Brahmotsavam here
falls in the Tamil month of Panguni. The Vishnu named Pavala
Kanivai Perumal, and Lord Muruga is taken in procession to Madurai to
celebrate Meenakshi’s wedding (Chittirai festival), with residents of
Madurai dressed in festive clothing. Nakkirar's association with this temple is
also celebrated as a festival. On Full Moon days, people go around the
hill –Girivalam. They seek the blessings of the Lord in the fulfillment of
wishes, relief from all types of sufferings, and for spiritual upliftment.
