Malai Kozhundeeswarar Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located at Thirumalai in Sivaganga District of Tamilnadu. This Temple is almost 500 Years Old.

The Temple
Presiding deity is called as Malai Kozhundeeswarar and Mother is called as Paagam Piriyal. Mukkuruni Vinayaka in the temple has a tuft on his back. Mother Durga graces with 8 hands with her Vahanas Lion and the Deer. Sri Kalabhairava appears with a club in his hand but without his dog vehicle. Sthala Viruksham is Kattathi tree. Theertham is Poigai Theertham. Agamam of this Temple is Shivagama.

The temple is open from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Festivals
Aipasi Annabhishekam in October-November, Tirukarthikai and Mondays in November-December, New Moon days in Aadi (July-August) and Thai in January-February and the Mahalaya New moon day falling in Purattasi – September-October are the festivals observed in the temple.

Thirumalai is 25 km from Sivaganga. Buses are available once in two hours only. The place is 50 km from Madurai from where the devotee can reach Alagamaneri through Madagupatti bound buses. The temple is 1 km from Alagamaneri. No auto facility is available. Nearest Railway Station and Airport are located at Madurai.
