Thiruthalinathar
Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located in Thiruputhur Town near Karaikkudi. Lord Shiva in the temple is a swayambumurthy. The
temples Rameswaram and Thiruvadanai are the other Shivastalams nearby. Tiruthali
Nathar Koil is an ancient temple near Tirupathur bus stand.
This is
on Karaikudi - Madurai route in Sivaganga district. It is 12 Kms from Pillaiyar
Patti. This is the 250th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 6th Sthalam in
Pandya nadu. Thiruganasambhandar and Appar have sung hymns in praise of Lord
Shiva of this temple.

Singers
The
temple is sung by celebrated Saivite Saints Sambandar, Appar and Sundarar in
their Thevaram hymns. This is the 6th Shiva temple in the Pandya region
praised in Thevaram hymns.
Festivals
The
Jayantan Festival is celebrated on the 1st Friday in the Tamil month of Chittirai.
In addition to this Vinayaka Chathurthi, Navarathri, Karthikai Deepam, Arudra Dharisanam,
Vaikasi Visakam, Chithirai Bhairavar Vizha in April-May and Karthikai Champaka Sashti
in November-December are celebrated here.
