Chennimalai Murugan Temple, Perunthurai – Connectivity
The Temple is located at about
2 Kms from Chennimalai Bus Stand, 13 Kms from Ingur Railway Station, 17 Kms
from Perundurai, 23 Kms from Sivanmalai, 23 Kms from Kangayam, 24 Kms from Uthukuli,
30 Kms from Erode, 39 Kms from Tiruppur, 84 Kms from Coimbatore Airport and 92
Kms from Coimbatore. The hill route to the temple has 1320 comfortably built
steps, and a 4 Kms metal road is also available. The Devasthanam has provided
special buses to reach the hilltop. Two buses are being operated to reach the
temple from the foothills. The return fare for this Bus trip is Rs.
10/-. For the devotees who climb the steps, there are resting mandapas and
drinking water facility enroute. The entire route is well lit. Modern toilet
facilities are also available.
Chennimalai is the main bus
route between Erode and Palani. Now TNSTC is operating new services from Palani
to Bengaluru and from Erode to Udumalaipettai via Chennimalai, and from Gobi to Madurai
via Perundurai, Chennimalai, Dharapuram, Dindigul. SH-96 passes through
Chennimalai town connecting Erode with Kangayam via Perundurai and this route
is used by Sabarimala devotees from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Nearest Railway Stations are located at Ingur and
Erode. Nearest Airport is located at Coimbatore.
