Kumara Subramanya Swamy Temple, Kondal, Nagapattinam
Kumara Subramanya Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murugan located at Kondal Village near Sirkazhi in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Viswanathar / Tharaga Parameswarar and Mother is called as Visalakshi. Though it is a Shiva Temple, importance is given to Lord Murugan. The place is also called Kondal Vannan Kudi, Kariyavanagar and Keezh Palani. The Temple is believed to be 900 years old. The Temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam. Saint Arunagirinathar had sung Thirupugazh Hymns on Lord Murugan of this Temple. Last Kumbabishekam was conducted at 1978.







Legends
Kondal Vannan Kudi:
Lord Vishnu (also called as Kondal Vannan / Mega Shyama) worshipped Lord Shiva of this Temple. Hence Kondal Vannan worshipped, this place was called as Kondal Vannan Kudi and later shortened to Kondal.
Lords Shiva and Vishnu worshipped Lord Murugan here:
Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva worshipped Lord Muruga here to release Lord Brahma from the imprisonment. 
The Temple
Presiding Deity is called as Viswanathar / Tharaga Parameswarar and Mother is called as Visalakshi. Though it is a Shiva Temple, importance is given to Lord Murugan. Lord Murugan is housed in separate shrine. He is having four hands and he is accompanied by his consorts Valli and Deivanai. Murugan Shrine can be accessed after the front Mandapam. Sanctum can be found next to Murugan Shrine. Nandhavanam is situated at the backside of Temple. Two Kaala Poojas are conducted in this Temple.

The Temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as it has been mentioned in Sundarar and Appar Thevaram Hymns.

Saint Arunagirinathar had sung Thirupugazh Hymns on Lord Murugan of this Temple.
Prayers
Devotees pray to Lord Murugan of this Temple to get rid of marriage obstacles. This is Parihara temple for getting relief from court and any other kind of litigations.
