Shivaloganatha Swamy Temple,
Kallur, Thanjavur
Shivaloganatha Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Kallur Village in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Shivaloganatha Swamy and Mother is called as Shivaloka Nayagi. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of Government of Tamil Nadu.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards
east and situated in little elevated platform similar to Mada Kovil. Nandi and
Balipeedam can be found in front of the maha mandapam facing towards sanctum.
The sanctum sanctorum consists of sanctum, antrala and maha mandapam. Presiding
Deity is called as Shivaloganatha Swamy and is facing east. He is housed in the
sanctum in the form of Lingam.
Dakshinamoorthy, Lingodbhava and
Durga are the koshta idols located around the sanctum walls. Chandikeswarar
shrine can be seen in his usual location. Mother is called as Shivaloka Nayagi.
She is housed in a separate south facing shrine. Shrines of Vinayaga,
Subramanyar, Maha Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Ardhanareeswarar can be seen in the
temple premises.

Visakam are the famous festivals celebrated here with much fanfare.

Kms from Thirunallur, 3 Kms from Kovilacheri, 4 Kms from Kadichambadi, 5 Kms
from Neerathanallur, 10 Kms from Kumbakonam, 11 Kms from Kumbakonam Bus Stand, 12
Kms from Kumbakonam Railway Station, 47 Kms from Thanjavur and 97 Kms from
Trichy Airport. The Temple is situated at about 2 Kms from Thirunallur off the
Kumbakonam to Neerathanallur Route.
