Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple, Puthiamputhur, Thoothukudi
Sri Pathrakaliamman
temple is one of the antique temples in Tamilnadu. It is located in
Puthiamputhur (English: Puthimbatore), Tuticorin district. The temple is very familiar to
the peoples of the district. As per the hearsay, the temple is above 150 years
old.
History
The Pathrakaliamman
temple was renovated in the year of 1907, 1977and again in 2004. After
renovation the temple was open to devotees on 1-2-2004. Its height is 61 feet.
Around 80 lakhs rupees were spent to build the Pathrakaliamman temple by Nadar
community.
