Anjaneyar Temple, Perumber Kandigai, Kanchipuram
Anjaneyar
Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Anjaneya located at Perumber Kandikai Village
in Kanchipuram District. This is a very ancient temple without any roof. Villagers
have tried many times to construct a roof over the deity but failed. There
is a popular belief among them that Sri Anjaneya Swami is growing in size, as
days pass by.
The name
of the village itself is very unique, Perum + Peru + Kandigai, meaning that one
should be very fortunate in order to take birth in this village. This village
is situated approximately 5 Kms from Achirappakkam (a small town in Chennai –

It is
said that during ancient times, there were nearly 33 temples in this village.
As days passed on, most of them got damaged due to various reasons and only a
few among them were left.
