Varadharaja Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in the holy city of Kanchipuram in Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is called as Devaraja Swamy Temple, Thirukachi, Athigiri, Perumal Kovil, Vezhamalai and Hastagiri. Presiding Deity is called as Varadaraja Perumal / Perarulaalan / Athigiri Arulala Perumal Kari Varadar / Giri Varadar / Devathiraja Perumal / Deva Raja Perumal and Mother is called as Perundevi Thayar. The temple is revered in Nalayira Divya Prabandham, the 7th – 9th century Vaishnava canon.
The temple is classified as a Divyadesam, one of the 108 Vishnu temples that are mentioned in the book. Lord Varadaraja Perumal of this temple was praised by Thirumangai Alwar in 4 pasurams, by Bhoothath Alwar in 2 pasurams and by Peyalvar in one Pasuram. Ramanuja, one of the greatest Hindu scholars of Vaishnava Vishishadvaita philosophy, is believed to have resided in this temple. It is located in the eastern corner of Kanchipuram known as the Vishnu Kanchi, abode for many famous Vishnu temples.

Prayers
People pray to Perumal for achieving excellence in
education and family welfare and prosperity. Lord Sudarshana Azhwar
removes the obstacles in wedding proposals of the devotees. They also
succeed in court cases and gain mental peace. Women facing health problems and
seeking child boon pray to Mother Perundevi Thayar. Devotees also pray to the
golden and silver lizards in the temple for relief from any untoward happening
due to the fall of real lizards on their body. The prayer also brings them
mental peace, safety and success in their endeavours. Devotees offer Tulsi
garlands and vastras to Lord and Mother. They offer sweet pudding (Sarkarai
Pongal) nivedhana. Kanchipuram Idly is a special prasadam available in temple.
It is a huge Idly which is added with spices.
