Kachabeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Thirukachur Village near Singapperumal Koil in Chengalpattu Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Kachabeswarar and Mother is called as Anjanakshi / Kanniumai Ammai / Mayil Vizhiyal / Sundaravalli. Though the presiding deity is Kachabeswarar, the temple is popularly called as Thyagaraja Swamy Temple. This Temple is considered as is one of the important Thyagaraja Swamy Temples in Thondai Nadu.
This Temple along with the Marundeeswarar Temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams (Shiva Sthalams) glorified in the early medieval Thevaram poems. This Temple is considered as the 26th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam in Thondai Nadu. This Temple is considered as one of the Thirupugazh Sthalams praised in Thirupugazh hymns of Saint Arunagirinathar. This Temple is considered as one of the 108 Shiva temples mentioned in Kanchi Puranam.
