Koolippatti Murugan Temple, Namakkal
Koolippatti
Murugan temple is popular attraction and is situated on a small hill. It is
located at a distance of 3 km from Namakkal on the way to Thuraiyur. It is
exactly located on the Thuraiyur Main road near Anna Nagar. It is devoted to
the Lord Murugan. Marriages and ear piercing ceremonies are celebrated here by
lots of people. During festival time Kavadi of various types (with holy water,
sugar, flowers, tender coconuts, etc.,) are offered to Murugan. During this,
Kavadi dance and rural musical-dance are performed.
The
availability of marriage halls and reception halls near this Koolippatti temple
has made it as one of the well-known marriage temples in this location. It
takes about 20 minutes and is about 8 kms from the Namakkal city. The
spectacular architecture of these temples inspires awe and amazes the
onlookers.
