Lady's Seat, Yercaud
Lady's
Seat, Gent's Seat and Children's Seat, located to the south-west of Shevaroy
Hill, are the names given to a group of rocks located on the Yercaud Hills.
These are present in the form of a seat, which overlooks the Salem town and Ghat
road. The Lady' Seat has derived its name from a set of rocks made naturally.
In
addition, the place also houses a viewing tower, which is equipped with a
telescope so as to enjoy the beautiful view of Mettur Dam and Salem town. This
viewing tower is open for visitors only during the day time. Tourists can have
a panoramic view of the plains below through the telescope mounted at the
Lady's seat.
This

road and the town of Salem to the South. There is a natural rock formation in
the form of a seat where reportedly a white English Lady of yester years spent

valley below. There is a manmade viewing tower with Telescopes. One can see the
magnesite deposits on the plains and on clear days a view of Mettur Dam. One
should not miss the night view of the Salem town with millions of twinkling
lights. On the right of Lady’s Seat are Sterling Resorts, Gents Seat and
Childrens Seat. There is a mini park and it is a breath taking spot for a
picnic. It is located at a distance of 2 kms from Yercaud Town.
The best
time to spot the river is from 300 p.m. onwards when the sun rays reflect off
the river waters. There is a steep diving point of 200 feet. It is located in
the south west of Shevaroy hills and projecting towards the plains of Salem
city. One can witness the beauty of entire Salem city region and its plains in
a bird view angle. This place has a viewing tower facility with a telescope.
One can spot even a small objects using telescope.
One of
the best views that Yercaud promises. You can enjoy the panoramic view of the
ghats and all the distant vehicles dwindling their way in and out of trees
