Thirumuruganathaswamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Thirumuruganpoondi Town in Avinashi Taluk in Tiruppur District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding deity is called as Thirumuruganathaswamy / Muruganatheswarar / Avudai Nayagar and Mother is called as Aalinga Bhooshana Sthanambigai / Muyangupoon Mulaiyammai / Aavudai Nayagi / Mangalambigai. This temple is considered as one among the Pancha Thandava Sthalams.
This temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Thevaram hymns. This temple is the 260th Devara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 2nd Shiva Sthalam in Kongu Nadu. This temple is considered one among the Thirupugazh Sthalams. This temple is considered as parihara sthalam for Ketu and Brahmahatya doshas. This temple is situated on the northern banks of Nallaru River.

Temple Opening Time
The temple remains open from 05.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m.
and 03.30 p.m.to 08.15 p.m.
Pooja Timings
The temple follows Saivite tradition. The temple
priests perform the pooja (rituals) during festivals and on a daily
basis.
The temple rituals are performed four times a
day:
· Ushakkalam - 06:00 a.m
· Kalasanthi - 08:00 a.m
· Uchikalam - 12:00 p.m
· Sayaratchai - 05:00 p.m

Prayers
This temple is considered as parihara sthalam for Ketu
and Brahmahatya doshas. Devotees take a holy bath in Brahma Theertham and
worship Lord Shiva sincerely for cure from mental illness. Devotees take a holy
bath in Shanmuga Theertham and perform abhisheka to Lord Shiva for child boon.
It is believed that devotees can recover their lost items by reciting pathigams
of Sundarar sung in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.
