Goldsmith’s Street, Tharangampadi, Nagapattinam
Goldsmith’s Street is one of the major streets located in Tharangampadi Town that tell a story of the old days of Tranquebar. Take a leisure walk in this street to witness the Tamil Buildings during colonial era all through the way. Goldsmith’s Street gives the feeling to the visitors that they are in 17th Century Danish Town. The predominant Danish streetscape did not wipe out the prevalent Tamil streetscape, as is evident from the houses on Goldsmith Street.
INTACH renovated the five Tamil houses here, taking care to retain the charm of the old architecture.
