Yoga
Rama Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu located at Nedungunam Village in
Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Lord Rama is seen in a Chin Mudra
Posture without his bow listening to Hanuman’s Vedic recital. It is one of the
biggest Vishnu temples in the North Arcot and Thiruvannamalai districts of
Tamilnadu. The Temple is located at about 24 kms South of Vandavasi on the
Kanchipuram – Chetput – Thiruvannamalai route at the foot of the Dheerkachalam
Mountain.

The
temple is opened from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Festivals
10 day
Panguni (March-April) Brahmotsavam, Aadi Pavitrotsavam and Sri Ramanavami, the
7th day car festival, 10th day Indravimana festival is grandly celebrated with
the participation of all communities. On the second day of Pongal, known as
Kanum Pongal or Kanu, Sri Ramachandra is taken in procession around the hill
passing through Jaganathapuram, Arasambedu, Veppampattu, Villivanam, Chetpet
Bazaar and Pazhampettai. Vaikasi Visakam (May-June) Karudasevai, Sri Krishna
Jayanthi, all Saturdays, Tamil and English New Year days, Deepavali, Pongal are
very devotionally celebrated when the crowd would be huge.

Praying
Rama in the temple ensures peace of mind to the devotee. Sudharsana Azhwar
promises happy wedlock and children to his devotees. Devotees also pray for
business development, promotion in jobs, family prosperity etc. Devotees
perform abishek with milk, curd, turmeric cosmetic powder, honey, sandal paste
etc. They offer garlands made of Tulsi, Dhoti. Sari, flowers, jewels etc. to
mother. Devotees also offer money in the Hundi and also undertake feeding the
poor.

Connectivity
Nedungunam
is to the West of Vandavasi; to the East of Polur; to the North of Gingee; to
the South of Arani and to the North-East of Thiruvannamalai. The temple is
located on the Vandavasi-Chetput main road itself. Nedungunam is located at
about 3 Kms from Chetpet, 20 Kms from Arani, 40 Kms from Thiruvannamalai and 24
Kms from Vandavasi.
Nedungunam
can be reached by bus from Kancheepuram, Thiruvannamalai, Vandavasi, Chetpet
and Arani. Bus Numbers 148, 208 and 422 from Koyambedu bus stand go
through Nedungunam. The temple is on the main road itself and so you can get
down right at the temple entrance. Nearest Railway Station is located at Polur
and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
