Mahaveerar Jain Temple, Mullipattu, Thiruvannamalai
Mahaveerar Jain Temple is located at Mullipattu Village in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Mullipattu is a nearby village of Arani town. Now it is an extension area of the town. The Jinar idol might belong to 15 – 16th Century AD. The Jinalaya comprises of Garbhagriha, Arthamandapam, Mahamandapam and Mugamandapam similar to Dravidian Temple Architecture.  The Temple has an open corridor; altar and compound wall surrounding the temple on all sides.



The main deity Shri Mahaveerar made of stone carving with eight Jinar features and has a semicircular top. There is no Lanchanam at the bottom. It is crowned by a two tier vimana having two Thirthankar statues on each direction attached on two stages.  A Brahmadevar stone statue over an elephant with back arch (Thiruvatshi) is also located in the temple.



On the top of the fore porch Jinar lime mortar idols of Shri Rishabhar, Shri Mahaveerar and Shri Parswanathar in sitting posture were placed inside a small gallery. The pillars of pavilions had Thirthankar, Dwalabalagar bas-relief figures in the two sections. Contact: + 91 9840181012.



Mullipattu is a nearby village of Arani town. Now it is an extension area of the town. It is located at about 61 Kms from Thiruvannamalai and 47 Kms from Vandavasi. Nearest Railway Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
