Thiru Varagunamangai Perumal Temple, (Vijayaasana
Perumal Temple), Natham, Thoothukudi - Connectivity
This
temple is part of “Nava Thirupathi”. There are few buses to “Sri Vaikundam”
from Tirunelveli bus stand and Thiruchendur. First you can visit Sri Vaikundam
and next is Azhwar thiru nagar which is 5 KM from Sri Vaikundam. After this you
can reach “Thirukkolur” (3KM) and move on to “Thenthiruperai” which is
5KM. Then if you travel another 10 KM you can reach Perungulam. After
finishing Dharshan at “Perungulam”, you need to go to “Rettai Thirupathi “which
has two Vishnu temples. There are no buses to reach this temple though it is
only 2 KM from main road. So you need to go to Eral from Perungulam and go by
auto to “Rettai Thirupathi”. Then you can reach “Thiruppulingudi” (7KM) and in
another one KM you can reach the last Nava Thirupathi called “Natham”.
Please
note: As many of these
places are villages it is better to travel on your vehicle than public
transport.
The
temple is just 2 kms away from Sri Vaikuntam divyadesam. Nearest station is
Srivaikundam on the Tirunelveli - Thiruchendur route and nearest railhead is
Tirunelveli junction. Taxi from Tirunelveli to cover Nava Tirupathi Divya
Desams will cost Rs.800-1000/-
The
nearest airport is Tuticorin (24.6 Km). Nearest Major Airport to the temple is
Madurai Airport which is 156 km away from the temple. Srivaikundam railway
station is situated on the Tirunelveli-Thiruchendur line. All passenger trains
from Tirunelveli stop at this station. The temple is about 2 miles from the
railway station.
