Udhvaganathar Temple, Thirumanancheri – Festivals
Daily Poojas:
Six Poojas are conducted in this
temple daily. They are Usha Kalam, Kalai Santhi, Uchikalam,
Sayaratchai, Irandam Kalam and Artha Jamam. The devotees can offer Ashtothram
and Sahasranama Archanas from 6.00 a.m to 8.30 p.m every day.
Weekly Poojas:
Sahasranama and Lalitha Thiruchathi Archanas are
performed in every Tuesdays and Fridays for the welfare of the world.
Monthly Poojas:
First day of every Tamil month, Krithikai, Pradoshams,
Amavasya, Pournami, Sankatahara Chathurthi and Uma Maheswara Homam to Kalyana
Sundareswarar are performed every month.
Festivals:
The wedding festival is grandly celebrated for three
days on the Poosam Star day during the Tamil month of Chithirai (Apr-May). Aadi
Pooram (Jul-Aug), Thiru Karthikai (Nov-Dec), Margazhi Thiruvadhirai (Dec-Jan) and
Masi Maha Shivaratri (Feb-Mar) are the festivals celebrated here. Special pujas
are performed on Deepavali (Oct-Nov), Thai Pongal (Jan-Feb) and Tamil New Year
day (Apr-May).
