Saptharisheeswarar Temple is a
Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Ammachatram Village near Kumbakonam
Town in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District in Tamil
Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Saptharisheeswarar and Mother is
called as Gnanambigai. Though it is Shiva Temple, the temple is famous for its
Kala Bhairava Shrine. The temple is famously known as Kalabhairava Temple. This
temple is one among the 88 temples which comes under the Thanjavur Palace
Management Committee.

History
The Temple was built by Chola
Kings and is currently maintained by Thanjavur Palace. Maratha King Sarabhoji
had done renovations to this Temple.

Festivals
Ashtami days especially full
moon Ashtami pooja are considered important to worship Lord Bhairava in the
temple. Special poojas are offered on this day.

is very popular and is believed to get great power of solving the problems and
giving remedies to life.
